Iran Joins Int'l Nanotechnology Standardization Governing Committee Iran

Islamic Republic of Iran was elected a member of the governing committee of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee (TC) 229 with 11 out of 12 votes in favor to be the representative of the Middle East and North Africa in that committee.

The international nanotechnology standardization committee was founded under the title Technical Committee ISO/TC229 in The International Standardization Organization (ISO) on 2005. Today, this committee has 32 major country and 8 supervising members. It cooperates with a large number of main standardization organizations around the world such as: IEC, CEN, ANSI etc.

The chairman of this committee, Dr. Peter Heto, is from British Standardization Institute (BSI). The specialized four-member committees are under the leadership of individuals from Japan, USA, Canada, and China.

England and Australia were also elected as the representatives of Europe and Australia/Oceania respectively.
