The first meeting between ECO secretariat's representatives and INIC was held in Tehran on 20 September 2009, with the primary purpose of mapping ECO members current situation in nanotechnology. In this meeting, priority issues for future works to support passive members in nanotechnology related activities were discussed. Some resolutions were proposed to activate non-active members in the field. Also it was agreed to define joint projects between active members. Furthermore, current challenges and opportunities for developing nanotechnology in ECO region were discussed.
It was agreed to invite science attaches of embassies of ECO member countries in Tehran to participate in a meeting in October.
